Angoulême Remparts Circuit
A not-to-be-missed event for classic car enthusiasts, the Circuit International des Remparts transforms Angoulême into a gigantic rolling museum, featuring everything that makes historic car enthusiasts dream, racing or otherwise, for three days. The 1,279-metre circuit has remained unchanged since its first edition on July 2, 1939, and is one of the last remaining city circuits, alongside Monaco and Pau. Affiliated to the Fédération française des véhicules d'époque, the course comprises two short straights, three right-angled bends, a big fast curve and three hairpins. It favours the smaller, more powerful but also heavier cars that need space to express themselves. In addition to these festivities, the Rallye International de Charente and car shows add a variety of festivities that delight enthusiasts and the curious: exhibitions, elegance contests, etc. Relive this unique experience by walking or cycling the same route, and take advantage of the various stages to admire photos of this historic race.
