Angoulême has acquired a strong international reputation thanks to its International Comics Festival, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2023 with some 200,000 visitors. Angoulême naturally explores itself in comic strip mode between its painted walls, which are veritable works of art, its comic strip museum, unique in Europe, and the exhibitions that follow one another throughout the year.
